But, as always, each new version has some limitations for owners of older Mac computers. These will not be able to install and run Mac OS X Lion Mountain. But machines that will be affected by this limitation?
After being released last week, the Golden Master of the Mountain Lion, is expected in the coming days the release of the final version of the OS from the Apple Store to purchase and download.
To help users prepare for the arrival of its new operating system, Apple has released a page where they can see if their machines are compatible for Mac OS X receive the Mountain Lion.
The list of machines that can see installed the Mountain Lion is not extensive, but includes most machines with 5 years. There are however some exceptions that require the latest hardware.
The list of machines where we can install Mac OS X Lion Mountain is the following:
- iMac (Mid 2007 or later)
- MacBook (End 2008 - Aluminum - Early 2009 or later)
- MacBook Pro (Mid / Late 2007 or later)
- MacBook Air (End of 2008 or later)
- Mac mini (2009 or later)
- Mac Pro (Begin of 2008 or later)
- Xserve (Begin of 2009)
In the window that is displayed should choose the Additional Info. This opens a new window, shown in the figure below, where they can check the date of your Mac computer
Apple also recommends that check whether your machine is in need of some updating to do and that, if it arises. This should be repeated immediately before installing Mac OS X Lion Mountain.
After this there is only expected to launch the Apple Mac OS X Lion Mountain, which we expect to happen in the coming days.
The launch of the Golden Master last week has brought your date very soon, as usual at Apple.
